I've had the privilege of working with Karen the past ~12 years and loved becoming friends with her. I loved it whenever she would come visit me and plop down in my cube to talk because I knew we would laugh so hard our sides would hurt. We didn't sit that close to each other but I could hear her laugh from down the hall and it always made me smile. I loved the way she was the best Mom in the world and did everything for her daughters. That is the kind of Mom I try to be for my kids. I am so happy that I got the chance to know Karen in this lifetime. I will miss her tremendously.

Karen was a great friend. I will miss our talks and how funny she was. Both my husband Ken and I thought so highly of her. I still am having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that she is actually gone. My deepest sympathies go out to her mother, Mrs. Crim, and her beloved girls, as well as her entire family and all who loved her. I will never forget her.

Thank you for sharing your tremendous display of bravery, endurance and love with all of us. I don’t think there is one person who wasn’t touched by your perseverance and fight over the years. The way you fought and enjoyed life at the same time was an inspiration. Your spirit will live on through the amazing women you have raised. Karen, your daughters are truly a testament of the love, strength, and support you provided them. You raised beautiful strong women and I am in awe of each of them, and how they were able to selflessly let you go when it was time. Each one of them has your strength, resilience and beauty. I will miss your laughter and friendship forevermore… I feel blessed to have shared the Richie and beyond years along with you. May your body now be at rest and your soul enjoying the peace of Heaven.

Karen, I can't believe you've left the physical bounds of this earth. Just a week ago I was chuckling, reading your commentary on the Washington Capitals vs Penguins game. I'll forever remember you as one of the Mom's group at Unistars practices, shows and parades. Whenever you were there, laughter was in abundance. You raised 3 wonderful daughters who will carry your teachings and memory forward. Rest well, Karen, you will be missed.
