Slipped away, aged 69, February 28, 2017. She was a 31-year resident of Loudoun County. Nina was born in New York City to Abraham A. Chertoff and Lucy Raim Chertoff, and became active in the civil rights movement as a teenager. Soon she was a union organizer. Working as a political organizer and journalist, she was a fighter for social justice throughout her life, and leading by example, gave her friends and associates the confidence that good will prevail. Her watchword was:

“Beauty is truth, truth beauty, – that is all
Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know.”
