Obituaries » Rebecca Diane Wood

Rebecca Diane McElwain (Wood), aged 63, died peacefully on March 24, 2017 at the Adler Center in Aldie, VA, after a long & courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends in her last days and was greeted at heavens door by her father, Paul W. Wood.

Rebecca was born on December 14, 1953 in Washington, D.C., the youngest of two daughters to Paul & Dolores Wood. She loved all things Disney and one of her greatest joys was taking her five grandchildren to “The Happiest Place On Earth”. An avid animal lover, she spent countless hours caring for fur babies as a vet tech assistant at the Loudoun Veterinary Clinic. Prior to that, Rebecca owned and operated her own cleaning company, Personal Touch, and raised her beautiful llamas, goats & turkey at Silo View Farm. She had a smile that would light up a room, numerous devoted friends and a family who loved her dearly. She cared deeply for her dogs; Spuddy & Chloe, as well as her cat, Sushi, and numerous other farm critters.

Rebecca was a member of Bluemont United Methodist Church and a longtime resident of the Round Hill community. She was strong-willed, a fighter and never gave up hope for a cure to the disease that ailed her.
Rebecca is preceded in death by her father, Paul W. Wood and nephew, James Carlton Benton; survived by her mother, Dolores E. Wood of Springfield, VA; sister, Sherry (Wayne) Tubbs of Stafford, VA; daughter, Tina (Dallas) Keller of South Riding, VA & sons, Richard (Brenda) Wolfe of Bristow, VA and Timothy Wolfe of Round Hill, VA.
Becky has five grandchildren who will miss their Grammy dearly; Taylor, Joey & Marcus Wolfe and Mackenzie & Cal Keller. The memories they have made with her in their young lives will be carried with them forever.

There will be a visitation on Sunday, March 26th, at 4PM-6PM and a service for friends and family on Monday, March 26th, at 10:30AM at Hall Funeral Home on 140 S. Nursery Ave. in Purcellville, VA. Burial will follow at 1PM at National Memorial Park located at 7482 Lee Hwy, Falls Church, VA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in her name to the Loudoun Breast Health Network. www.lbhn.org
